Top Ten College Demands the Best in Architectural Metalwork
Holy Cross Sixth Form College, Bury, rated among the best in the country, demands the best even when it comes to its restoration work. Ken Brogden Ltd and its owner Jason Steinbach were called back in to carry out restoration fabrication work including the following:
New Balustrade to Sunken Garden.
The retaining wall to the sunken garden was beyond repair and the college had instructed a building firm to rebuild it.
Ken Brogden Ltd was asked to supply new balustrade to the top of the retaining wall.
Whilst on site Jason suggested to the client that the original balustrade that was still in place within this area of the college should be replicated. A sample was produced, approved by the client and the work was completed.
Boundary railings and gates
One of Ken Brogden Limited’s biggest project to date, The Holy Cross Sixth Form College came to Jason with architects drawing for the proposed boundary wall and ironwork. In discussions with the College regarding the design for the railings, Jason was asked to come up with an alternative simplified design. This was to help keep the project within budget, but also be more in-keeping with the existing buildings on campus. The college were pleased the new design and the work was completed on time and within budget.
