A County Durham high level and historic repair and maintenance company has seen a major increase in demand for its safety-related services
Darlington-based Stone Technical Services’ are specialists in the installation of safety systems, fall arrest equipment and access walkways, working throughout the UK offering unrivalled levels of protection to people working at height.
Stone designs, installs and maintains all aspects of safety systems surpassing statutory requirements thanks to its specialist engineers who assess risks and recommend solutions to fit precise requirements.
Recently, the business has secured a number of new contracts- worth in the region of £80,000- to install specialist safety systems at Hexham Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral and for Swan Housing Group in the South East of England. In addition, the company has installed safety systems at Gateshead Old Town Hall, Bowes Museum and Bridlington Priory, to name a few.
Safety systems include the installation of walkways, fall arrest equipment and handrails to protect members of the public from aspects such as falling debris and also tradesmen carrying out repairs and maintenance.
MD of Stone Technical Services, Dave Stone, said: “This is an incredibly specialist area, even more so when you throw in issues such as working at height, public access issues and historic buildings with specific restrictions. Thanks to our combined skills, experience and services we’ve had a surge in demand for our safety services because we can offer a service that is tailored exactly to the needs of the client- for example what’s needed at St Paul’s is very different to what’s needed by a housing association.”
Martin Fletcher, clerk of works at St Paul’s Cathedral, added: “As ever, the guys at Stone have carried the work to the highest of standards we come to expect. Once again on time and to budget for which I am most grateful. The system is far slicker than the one removed and of course is far safer without constant snagging.”
Stone Technical Service is one of the UK’s most experienced safety, high-level, restoration and repair companies working on everything from small, community churches to prominent landmarks.
